May is mental health awareness month


May is national mental health awareness month. According to the Centers for Disease Control about 1 in 4 Americans is currently living with mental illness. This is significant not only for the mental illnesses themselves but also for the oftentimes secondary factors that can accompany them such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity: http://www.cdc.gov/mentalhealthsurveillance/
